Deep TMS Therapy for OCD and Depression

Your TMS journey starts with a consultation with Doctor Cho or one of our providers at Houston Mind and Brain who work very closely with him.
TMS is effective in 2 / 3 of patients who receive treatment for Major Depressive Disorder. Out of these patients, they can experience a 50% reduction in their Depressive symptoms and even complete remission.
Benefits of Deep TMS Therapy
dTMS is proven to be more effective when patients still maintain their medication/therapy they were undergoing prior to treatment. Here are some reasons to use the Deep TMS therapy:
- Deep TMS is safe to combine with other forms of therapy and does not have any long term side effects.
- Deep TMS can be used to treat other disorders such as anxiety, bipolar, and can even improve cognition and reduce brain fog.
- You can drive yourself to our clinic and back safely as TMS doesn’t have side effects that affect your ability to drive.
- There is no extra medication you need to take while undergoing TMS.
- TMS is effective in 2 / 3 of patients who receive treatment for Major Depressive Disorder.
- Deep TMS treatment for depression is covered by most insurances.

How dTMS Works

Deep TMS therapy uses magnetic pulses to stimulate the front part of the brain. Specifically, the Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex (DLPFC) is the target of stimulation. Research shows that the stimulation of this area of the brain reduces symptoms of depression in most patients. This stimulation is extremely safe and well tolerated.
