The Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ) assesses the symptoms of mania, which, in addition to depressive symptoms, is a feature of bipolar disorder. The MDQ consists of 13 yes-or-no questions about manic symptoms, such as energy level, irritability, excessive self-confidence, and risky behaviors, and asks if these symptoms occurred at the same time and how much they interfered with a patient’s daily life.
